Song Dog Anniversary at Valle de Oro National Wildlife Refuge

Celebrate our 1 year anniversary and the winter solstice at Valle de Oro National Wildlife Refuge! Learn about our 2026 programs, meet fellow community members and participate in a storytelling exercise. We will have herbal hot chocolate and snacks for everyone to enjoy! Masks are required for our indoor portion, we will have extra to share 💗

This gathering takes place from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm, is free and open to all who are curious about our programs and services which are rooted in land, art and connection.

Participants are encouraged to bring their own lunch and mug. Space is limited so please register in advance by filling out the form below, this helps us best prepare for our gathering.

Those who would like to bike to Valle de Oro with us will meet Song Dog at Tingley Beach and ride as a group towards the refuge. Please meet Blanca at the Central Pond of Tingley at 9am sharp. The group rides out together at 9:30am. Total mileage biking is 18 miles on a flat paved road, there and back. Bike participants should expect to be back at Tingley Beach by 2:00 pm.

Want to join but not on a bike? Meet us at Valle de Oro! The gathering will take place at the visitor center’s multipurpose room, please arrive at 11:00 am. Parking at the refuge is free and there are water stations and bathrooms available.
