Bicis y Botánica - Birding Edition

  • Song Dog Relations Tingley beach Albuquerque United States (map)

Bilingual, interpretive bike rides are back! And we are starting off the fall season with a combination of birding and storytelling! The Canada Geese are honking, the Wood Ducks are showing off their striking colors, and the Sandhill Cranes have been flying overhead, and there are stories to tell about all our feathered friends. We will learn the basics of birding, exchange linguistic connections and dive into nature writing.

Participants should expect to bike up to 8 miles total, on mostly flat and paved, gravel and dirt trails. We will begin at Tingley Beach and make stops along the way to the Rio Grande Nature Center. A limited number of binoculars will be available to borrow. This program will run for four hours with breaks for rest, snacks and lunch. Please bring water, lunch, a journal or sketchbook and something to write with.
