Please come and enjoy the Medicine Makers Market, hosted by Good Dirt Farm in collaboration with Snakeroot Apothecary. There will be 16 incredible vendors offering herbal remedies, bodywork and more. In addition, 5 workshops will be available throughout the day, ranging from medicine making sessions to somatic practices. Good Dirt Farm is located at 8933 Guadalupe Trail NW, ABQ 87114.
As for us, Song Dog and B. Stacey Villalobos will be leading an embodied sound workshop that covers toning practices and movement exercises to support healing in our bodies, hearts and minds. Sound travels through our bones, and due to its vibrational nature our bodies are then capable of receiving and offering resonance as medicine. Students will learn practical skills that can be integrated into their everyday routines and meditation practices. Participants do not need to be musicians or trained singers. If you have a voice you can sing and tone in community!
Blanca has been incorporating sound and song into my community programs and performance work for the last 10 years. They have studied embodied voice activation with Colombian musician and sound therapist Alejandra Almunis Ortiz and began facilitating online sound healing programs in 2020. This workshop is a preview our Winter programs, which will be shared through this newsletter in the months to come.
