Skullcap soothes your nervous system and helps brings you back into your body, especially after a distressing situation, or if one experiences susto. They promote healthy sleep patterns & are a beautiful nerve tonic that can be taken daily.

This plant relative has been a generous ally for me in times of high stress, anxiety and disassociation. I’ve reached for their medicine in times of unsettled nerves, and I’ve also integrated them into my dream practice.

Sleep & Dreams: I place a few drops under my tongue at bedtime to help turn off any circular thoughts and allow myself to physically rest or drift into my dream landscape. If you experience susto or ‘fright’ while dreaming, my suggestion is to combine skullcap with muicle or a warming bitter like mugwort to reunite your spirit body back with their physical twin.

Your Medicine’s Journey: The skullcap was grown and harvested by folks at Steadfast Herbs, who are located in Pescadero, CA on the ancestral lands of the Ohlone, Ramaytush & Muwekma.

The plants were later shipped to my home where I processed & bottled the fresh plant medicine in the Mojave desert of Southern CA, as a guest on the ancestral lands of the Cahuilla & Yuhaviatam/Maarenga’yam (Serrano) people.

Ingredients:

• Fresh scutellaria lateriflora (skullcap), grain alcohol & vodka

Use: shake well, take 1 dropper full as a daily tonic for your nervous system, or 5-10 drops as needed to soothe frazzled nerves. You are encouraged to serve in water, tea or directly under the tongue!

Shelf life:

• Tincture - plant medicine extracted and preserved with alcohol can have a shelf life of multiple years. The alcohol batch can last one a long time as long as it is stored in a cool, dry place away from heat & sunlight.

Contraindications: none except that some folks may experience s mild numbness in the teeth, if that happens please cut back on your dosage.
